จำได้ว่าเคยมีคนเจอปัญหานี้มาก่อน และเคยเขียนไว้ที่ไหนสักแห่ง วันนี้ผมเจออีกครั้งหลังจากที่ เพิ่ม repo ของ debian ทั้ง etch และ sid ทั้งคู่ทำให้เกิด error ดังนี้

E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room
E: Error occurred while processing xemacs21-gnome-mule (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/http.us.debian.org_debian_dists_sid_main_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

ก็เพิ่ม cache size ให้ apt ก็ได้ครับผมเพิ่มใน

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/70debconf

ด้วยบรรทัด

APT::Cache-Limit "16777216";

ทำการ update อีกครั้งก็เรียบร้อย
